Julie Chen Moonves, who was one the original hosts and moderators of The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award award-winning talk show), returned to host The Talk on August 5th for its 22nd episode. She was a writer prior to becoming a host, however her true passion was to write. It actually earned her an Emmy. Also, she won one Emmy award for outstanding hosting of a talk show. From 2002 to 2010 Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. The previous assignments included anchoring the CBS Morning News and The Early Show. The anchor was escorted to Cairo following the 9/11 attacks and gave an intimate and fascinating interview with the father of the primary hijacker. Chen Moonves is a journalist who has worked with notable newsmakers such as former New York City City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Queen Rania, the former defense secretary William Cohen and Denzel Washington. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news show which featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves worked as anchor and reporter for the CBS-owned WCBS-TV station located in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). She also served as a producer at ABC NewsOne (1992-1995), the news affiliate of CBS, and she was a desk assistant in ABC News' Los Angeles bureau (1990-1991) as she completed her senior year at the University of Southern California. This was her first broadcasting job as a Desk Assistant for ABC News' late-night show Nightline featuring Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is still one of her favorite journalists. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the primetime special that won the Columbia du-Pont award and examined the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
